A Major Tipping Point for Rosen Method

A word from Mariette Berinstein:

Mariette Berinstein, COO RMICI am writing to personally invite you to attend the 6th Rosen Method Global Congress, August 5 – 9, 2014.
First, I want to introduce myself to those of you in the Rosen community who do not know me. My name is Mariette Berinstein and I am a Senior Rosen Method Bodywork Teacher. I began my journey in Rosen Method in 1989, and in 2005 became the owner of the Rosen Method Cascadia Centre, which was renamed Rosen Method Institute Canada Inc.  The co-owner of our school is Cinnamon Cranston, a practitioner from Edmonton who serves as the Marketing and Communications Director.  Bill Samsel has partnered with me since 2005 as the Director of Teaching and plays a vital role in shaping our training programs.

Tipping Point
We are sitting atop a unique moment in history,
a major tipping point. This time we are in provides singular
opportunities that can be seized and made use of with every breath.
There is only one way to do that. It is to embody,
in our lives as they are unfolding here and now,
our deepest values and our understanding of  what is most important
—–and share it with each other, trusting that such embodied actions,
on even the smallest of scales, will entrain the world over time
into greater wisdom and health and sanity.
– Jon Kabat-Zinn

When I read this quote from Jon Kabat-Zinn’s book Arriving at Your Own Door, I felt that it spoke about Rosen Method and expressed where Rosen Method is as a profession.   We are sitting “atop a unique moment” in our own history, a major tipping point.  At this point, right now, we have an incredible window of opportunity to work together, to embody what we have learned and lived from Rosen Method, and to have a positive impact in the world.

In 2004 the Rosen Institute began the first Global Congress hosted by the German center  bringing together the Rosen communities from around the world. Over the years our Rosen communities with the Rosen Institute have helped build the new organizational structures to support Rosen Method in today’s complex world.  Increased collaboration will help the training centers thrive, and provide resources for our profession so we succeed in growing Rosen Method.  We can each step out in new ways so Rosen Method will be recognized as one of the leading somatic modalities.  Marion Rosen often said, “this work can help heal the planet”.   Her simple words resonate within me as holding a deep truth.

What makes our 2014 Global Congress VI unique?

By gathering together at this moment in our history, at this tipping point, we will experience that we are strong, we are creative, and we have a shared vision about the value of Rosen Method.  Together we can build a vital and profitable profession in which people can practice Rosen Method as their full-time work.  Together we can invest in the next steps that are needed to resolve our differences and unify our global Rosen community.

We will also be celebrating our roots, the 100th birthday of Marion Rosen, who was born in Germany in June 1914.  By honoring and preserving the core principles and teachings Marion brought to the world about the journey of personal transformation, we strengthen our connection with each other and with our work.  She found that touch, relaxation, and the breath are doorways to the inner self.  She called Rosen workers midwives – people who help others in their path of self-discovery.  When we are together as a united “body” at the Global Congress, we have the opportunity to discover our wholeness and our potential as members of a wonderful profession that supports wellness, awareness, and personal healing.

The 2014 Global Congress is being held at Whistler, a beautiful world class location in the Canadian Coast Mountains that has hosted the Winter Olympics.  You are welcome to bring family members, partners, and friends who can enjoy the many summer activities offered by Whistler.  The Canadian Rosen Method community is very excited to be hosting this event, and we welcome you all to Canada!  Please come – to connect deeply, to laugh, and to play together.

Please note that the Call for Presentations is now opened. For information on how to send in a proposal to present a workshop or other offering at Global Congress VI,  please Link HERE.

We understand that it is not always easy to travel internationally but your participation is very important to all of us.  Our goal as hosts is to have representation from every country and every region where Rosen Method is taught and practiced throughout the world.

I wish you all the best for this coming new year. I hope to hear from you soon!

In gratitude,  Mariette
